I've read a lot about these puppies and I'm just curious if anyone here has actually had them? I know the pros and cons, just curious on the sets out there. Price ranges are so vast it has me wondering. Thanks.

I installed a kit from cycle gear on my Suzuki. I'd stay away from that one, it's gonna be a lower wattage than stock. I cant remember the website, but there's a huge hid/led supplier that makes what I've read are really great units. Either way, it can take a while for your eyes to get used to the light output.

I put and HID on my 06 America and it made a world of difference. I ride to work every day and most of the time leave late after dark. I had the HID on another bike I owned and put it on this one. I purchased the 6000 bulb and it is white in color. You must adjust your headlight to the correct height or you will get pulled over. I wouldn't leave home without one on my bike. I live in Rehoboth, MA with many back roads and is very dark. They do use lower wattage when running but use more when they startup. Put it on a relay so won't be trying to start while the engine is starting.

Thanks for the reply! I live in NH and would love to meet up sometime to see it in person when this snow finally melts! Thanks again.

If you are considering a HID light for your ride, consider getting a Projector kit instead of just the HID bulb. The projector will keep the light where it belongs, on the road instead of in peoples eyes. A chum purchased a simple HID light and ended up pulling it off his bike. He was flashed too often by oncoming traffic, even on low beam.

Here is a LINK to a site that will sell bike specific.

Never been flashed so far with mine on low beam but I know what you mean. It is very hard to adjust to the correct height. The bike shop I go to will fail you if not adjusted correctly. My bike passed but when he put the high beam on he said holly ******. I like the high beam on the back streets and so do the people I ride with. They say it looks like daytime with my high beam on. If you would like to see it in the spring let me know. We can meet up. This winter sucks for riding but I did get out yesterday for an hour. Lot of sand on the roads this year.

I thought about going with an HID kit on my Speedy too. But after some reading and searching I went with a Phase 7 LED headlight. $269.99 at motorcycle-superstore.com Direct plug and play, no relays or ampage issues.

It's REALLY bright.

Dude!

Could ya post a pic. from straight on, looking directly at the bike from ahead?? I'd like one more view of that headlight.

Thanks.

With the Phase 7 can a modulator be used for day time riding to alert drivers coming from a perpendicular direction?

Wow. Thats slicker than snot. Don't like the sticker price much though. I want something smaller anyway. Really looks great though.

I'm not sure. It's on my to do list of things I want to check out once I'm finished with a few other things I'm working.
