Part of the NC side slide 900 ft down the mountain. You can take that one off your bucket list this spring. http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/01/18/2615982/part-of-cherohala-skyway-slides.htmlI don't know how much rain they've had but we've had over 6" the past 10 days and everything has turned to goop. My favorite gap leading out of town will be closed for months due to a slide and every fun road in the area will need careful scouting.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

We've had an unbelievable number of landslides in the past few days due to all the rain. If you're planning a trip to western North Carolina you'd better check to see if your chosen route is clear.

Yikes, this is seriously bad news for those that enjoy riding in God's country.
Hope no one in the areas affected were hurt or had property damage.

Not too many injuries but there have been parking lots sucked into sinkholes, cars and all, and roads completely washed away.
It's significant.
