One of the rumors out there is that he was trying to cover up that fact that he is gay. Mormons aren't real big on that, from what I've heard. For that matter, neither are Catholics.
Who knows? If it's true it might break down a lot of barriers. Life can take some funny twists.

Could be . . . seems like he may have harmed himself more by inventing, then killing off, a girfriend though. On the other hand, it could open an entirely new branch of fantasy football!

Well since we're still imaginin' stuff, and while we're on girlfriends, and relating to the Imagine a Song thread, here's two lines from "Imagine a Man" Imagine a girl you long for and have And the body of chalky perfection and truth. OK, I gotta go now, my doggie needs a scratchin'

He didn't think it was odd that she had to be inflated before a date?

Your reference to Mormons and Catholics is offensive. I doubt you're qualified to speak or understand to either's theology on the subject.
If the Notre Dame player in question thought there actually was a girl, he's an idiot. If he was involved in the hoax, he's an idiot. QED, he's an idiot. Gay?, who knows, we do know he will be an idiot millionaire pro ball player in a year, hopefully somewhere other than KC.

I stand corrected. You are correct I am neither Catholic (though, as my brother and uncle were both priests I am KINDA qualified on that one) nor Mormon, though I know many of both. It may have been offensive to some and, for that, I apologize.
That being said, you might want to read pretty much every other thread in the Lounge to see if anyone else might have been offended by a post and address them as well.

I'm raised French Roman Catholic. I'm not at all offended by that statement...why? Because it's true. It's one of the many reasons I do not actively participate anymore. I cannot follow something that in my opinion, is a giant waking hypocrisy. I respect my father for his beliefs, no matter how ass backwards they may seem, but the Catholic Church is not for me.
And before I really offend someone, I'll stop.
Any day on my bike is the best day ever! That would be my custom painted 2007 Speedmaster or my 2002 Daytona 955i also known as my salt racing bike!

US Catholics in general trend with mainstream culture and politics. The Church, with the exception of "same sex" marriage, treats hetero and heterosexuality the same. The President's view on "same sex" marriage mirrored the Church's till a year ago and by the way he won the Catholic vote. The Church is no different than any very large organization, it changes slowly, like corporations, cultures or governments do. I've got doctors, lawyers and nurses in my family, don't ask me for medical advice.

I can't believe anyone gives a rats ass about this. Its seems kind of stupid to me to entertain such moronic behavior. This has been all over the news for days now. Why?
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

It means the Church doesn't condone or sanction same sex marriage and as the Church defines acts of sin, those acts applies to both heterosexuals and homosexuals the same.

I guess you just don't know what you actually typed then because that's not what you said.

It's what I meant, sorry. I think faster than I type, sometimes I forget to proof read, sometimes words never make it to the screen because the wireless keyboard. My biggest regret for high school is not taking typing and a girl named Linda.
