I saw a set of carbs on eBay that they say will fit an 01-08 Bonneville. Are those the same as Triumph put on my 08 carbed America?
I'd like to get a spare set and have them tuned up a bit.

Same carbs but different needles and jets.
If the intake manifolds are with them those wont work on our bikes.

I asked to see the listing to be sure they were modern and not a set of Amals or something else. I actually have a set of Amal carbs off of an 850 Commando I toyed with using on my SM.

They look like the same ones as on my America. I guess I never really thought of older styles. My thinking was to polish them like somebody else had done here. But I wanted a cheap pair in case it got screwed up. Not mine from my bike. I'd go nuts if I couldn't ride. Did that link work ok? It was suppose to say let's SEE if this works. Damn thumbs.

Speaking of Amals, there was talk of developing Amals for our bikes years ago, anyone know what came of it?

Are Amals better in some way? Should I be focusing on different carbs for tweaking? Well except for the racing carbs that are a grand!!

I was speaking of vintage Amals from the early 70s with a cable operated slide. Not able to be tuned as fine as a modern carb.
