Went to the local bike show today, darn it if i did not take any pics, Triumph had some cool modifieds laying around to view some nice bobbers etc, i have ta tell ya i sure like that T-Bird Storm..... i dam near bought it, but alas....16k still a few bucks these days. May just have to keep an eye out for a used one though. Bought some chaps, new carbon fiber half lid some new gloves, all decent prices, good thing about some of these shows so much under one roof and decent prices. A taste of summer!

Mike,

Thanks for the update. I made it to the Toronto Bike show last weekend on Jan 4. There were a lot of Triumph bikes on display. The Trophy got a lot of interest. There were a lot of classic bikes to see. The one I liked the best was a 1949 125cc BSA Bantam 2 stroke that was just restored. Pretty bike. Owner told me that when he got the bike the engine was seized. He pulled the plug and head and soaked the cylinder complete with seized piston in a mixture of oil and WD40 for a year before it freed up. Polished the cylinder, installed new rings after cleaning up the piston and it ran like a champ.

I'm volunteering in the Triumph booth for the weekend. Great to see you today Mike, and meet your wife! You need to get a Storm...it suits you.

Greg, the Trophy by far is getting a ton of attention here too, along with the Tiger. Finally, the Storm has seen its fair share of butts in the seat! Very busy day! I'm committed to a couple hours omorrow then do a tour myself.

Any day on my bike is the best day ever! That would be my custom painted 2007 Speedmaster or my 2002 Daytona 955i also known as my salt racing bike!

Personally I find them a waste of time and money, yer up to spending $50 before you even lay eyes on a bike.I agree some of the old stuff is kewl. One year I ended up buying a new honda,Then in 2002 I saw the new America,I had to have one.I went to the dealer the following week saw a speedmaster and never looked back and try to avoid the bike show fer financial reasons.

Sounds like it cost you a lot more than $50...

Marty, you can lower costs if you attend certain events like Echo's customer appreciation just before Christmas. They gave everyone who came free tickets.

I think it was successful for the sole reason that I talked to new and old Triumph riders who have never gone to the Raid or haven't been in awhile. Most have emailed me already confirming they booked rooms and registrations are on the way. This show provides excellent networking opportunities including hanging with the guys from Triumph Canada.
