God must have needed a great general in heaven.
He was Patton without the vices of ego and self promotion. He inspired, motivated, and led commanders & soldiers to use their wits, drive hard, and win battles utterly and without hesitation. When the battle was won, he exhibited compassion and restraint toward a defeated enemy. The only misjudgment I can recall, is that he allowed the Iraqi army use of helicopters in the "no-fly" zone following the terms of surrender in Desert Storm. Simply an amazing and effective senior military leader.
Thanks you for your service, sir!
