Primero, I have Davida jet. Size XXL (64 cm), similar to 7 7/8 (humungous!). I like the thinner outside profile, leather padding makes it comfortable and quiet. Had I been a professional helmet/gear moderator at the time of purchase, maybe I could have finagled a discount???? The first one (mail order) didn't fit due to giant head syndrome, but they took it back and this one fits excellent . I thought that (direct exchange) was pretty decent of the vendor. The other Bell thread has me thinking I might look for a second helmet. JH

That's wierd .. that should fit me easily but at a bike show, they had a stand there and I tried a few (including what they said was their biggest lid) but nothing fit comfortably.
My current Shoei is 63cm and now slightly lose. Then again, another model Shoei (same size) didn't fit!! Also a new Caberg replaced under warranty doesn't fit me either!
I never understand guys who can buy mail order for lids without trying 'em first.

I was wondering how the European safety standard compares with the US DOT and/or Snell standards?

Dang Adey, from the sound of it one could paint a world map on your gord and use you in a geology class. How big is this noggin of yours? Have you been offered a job in a circus side show, or are you exagerating a bit?

Adey,
Seriously, I had never mail ordered before. The first one (following carefully tape measuring my noggin) was 62 cm and I literally couldn't get it down past my ears. "Aint this Great!" Return, reorder a second one at 64 cm and it fit perfect. Two cm's>, who would have thought? I also have cheapo helmet with foam rubber padding that has increased a few sizes the last 3 years .
