Today i have been married to my lovely wife for 17 years. Last night she gave me a Icon airframe helmet. This is the first full face helmet I have ever owned, and this morning the first time I have ever ridden with a full face helmet. Man it was very cool, I wish I had been ridding full faced all along. I couldn't believe the comfort, no wind buffeting, no parachuting just straight comfortable ride. at 95 mph I didn't feel any pressure against my head either. I am a convert.

I in no way advocate that laws should mandate helmet use. I still stand by my belief that it is a personal choice, and will argue the point with anyone.

That's one of the reasons I don't wear a full face. Wind buffeting in my face. Might as well ride in a cage. But to each their own.

Congratulations on 17 years and your wife giving you such a cool gift.

Oh! So THAT'S why when you pop that bubble-wrap, you always hold it at arm's length then, eh Wade?!

(...btw Chad, Happy Anniversary!...and congrats on the cool gift from the Mrs!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

when I first got a full face helmet, it split time with my half, then it got used more often than the half, now it's been a few years since the half helmet has been worn at all

Never cared for the half lids. I really like the protection for my eyes and face from the wind a debris. My X-eleven vents really well too.

Congrats on the anniversary!

Now you know why I've abandoned windshields. What till you see how it performs in the rain...

I ride with a full face (well, modular) but leave the shield up or off. I'll either wear sunglasses or drop down the 'fighter shield'. I like the wind but my paramedic days impact what I wear.

Congrats on the 17 years. As crazy and impossible as it might seem, the second 20 is even better than the first. Counting dating this is our 30th Christmas together.

Yup thats what i will do, i take the shield off and drop the internal visor (wheni am wearing the full face) in the city i still like my 3/4 but full face has its place for sure.

And yup happy aniversay to you and the mrs. Bud, my wife and i just had our 17th this past July...... goes too quick if ya ask me....

I have been down this track as well and finally settled for the open face with a pair of Wiley x glasses with the foam inners and windshield, The full face has come a long way since then with better visibility and vents. The Nolan N42 I think it is looks like the ducks nuts with the clip in lower section!

Thanks guys. I am enjoying my helmet, and the wife. Our relationship seems to get better each year. Its funny how you can be with some one so lo g and not run out of things to talk about.

I never would have guessed six years ago that, out of the blue, my wife would take up riding, and she puts miles one her bikes. I keep encouraging her to buy another and give me that black Bonneville.

She is never boring.
