Hi Guys, I've just bought a 2010 Speedmaster and want to put a solo seat, seat rail and mudguard rack on it, I also want to occasionally take the rack off and put on a pillion pad.
My question is, what is the most comfortable solo seat and pillion pad available from Triumph, past and present?

Available only from Triumph or for a Triumph? I use a Corbin with a backrest for long trips (most comfort I have found) and a Maverick single on my around town bike, surprisingly comfortable for being so thin. BTW, My L-2,3, and 4 are toast and inoperable if that means anything.

If you are tall in stature, the corbin might hurt your coccyx. Reason is the internal female receiver on the rear of the saddle that receives the backrest post. I've two corbin saddles. One is more comfortable than the other. Neither interferes with my coccyx. Chy (for one) had a corbin and got rid of it due to coccyx problems. The joy of most aftermarket saddles is that they seat you down in the bike. The oem keeps one well perched on the top of the bike. The oem foam is soft and pliant with a good push back over time. Seems to be latex. Yet the oem foam is way to thick for me. I strongly dislike it, as in, "dern, I'm on Vera with the oem saddle!" The pillons have indeed gone through three (3) iterations. The first one was a bump on the fender. The second one had a saddle shape to it. The last and current one retained the saddle shape while at the same time being wider. The Latest one is a major PITA to mate with the Corbin Saddle. I would recommend given a corbin, that the second generation oem pillion is the perfect match with a corbin and is worlds apart from the first generation oem pillion regarding passenger comfort. Third Generation oem pillion: Second Generation oem pillion: Don't have many pictures of this one. First Generation oem pillion vis-a-vis the corbin pillion:

I like my corbins i hate anything OEM way to thick , feel like you are looking down at the bike instead of being a part of it. I would say you should look at the new seats Fast Eddy is selling, they look nice, ibeleive they are a BC custom seat, but good price and i think will be more comfy then the warlock or new speedmaster ones.

Thanks for all your help guys. There's a Speedmaster solo seat on UK ebay right now, would that be the same as the America solo, or are they different?

Another solo seat has come up on ebay, but this time a gel one, are these better than without gel?
I know the score with the Bonnie and Thruxton seats, but haven't a clue about the America/Speedmaster seats.

you need to be more clear, speedmaster seat may also denote the "newspeedmaster" seat which is much much different then the OEM one. I tend to prefer the gel ones but then again my corbin is hard as a stone and i think its very comfortable so who am i. Post an add in here in the classifieds that you are looking for a seat someone may have one for sale, those that swapped out to corbin or something may wish to sale their oem one.

So, the America/Speedmaster Solo Gel seat with the third generation of pillion pad is the best way to go for Triumph supplied seats, it that correct?
