it looks awesome from the pics ive seen - bit pricey - but very very nice none the less- i had a 96 california for 3 years - great bikes

I've never noticed heat from my buddy's Breva but the heads will remind you to watch your knees much like a HD air cleaner will.

It is an interesting design with a lot of nice features. However looking at the videos on youtube etc it seems your knee is 2"inches from the jugs. 2+ hours in the saddle and I'm guessing that sucker will be plenty hot.

Not fond of it. Plus, with my legs I probably wouldn't be able to ride it. Engine reminds me of the 80's honda CX. Wasn't to fond of that style either.

I too have a soft spot for the Guzzis. Never owned one but it was one of my first infatuations. As a snot nosed kid there was a Norton, Indian, Guzzi shop within walking distance of my house. I got the bike fever very early in life. Once it’s in your blood it’s there for ever. I use to hang out there and sit on the El Dorado 850’s and dream of rolling down the highway on that big MG. I bet the ole boy that owned that place wished I would get the heck out of there. I never bought a bike from him but I did use his back lot that had a hill climb to raise hell jumping/wrecking my dirt bikes. He’s long gone along with that shop and all those great bikes, the El Dorados, the Commandos, the old Chiefs …yep those were the days.

i never had a problem on any of the guzzis i owned - thats not to say this revised model would be the same .- firemans trousers might be needed

Gas tank seems really close to a lot of heat.

I like it, but I liked my CX500 too (6'2" and no knee/head interference - but I could scooch up in the winter and take advantage of the warmth). I kept that one for 11 years and still regret trading it for a damn Gold Wing.
That cooler seems awfully low, even with the front fender extension.
Too bad there's not a decent Guzzi dealer network.

I have a CX500 out back that ran when I put it there, haven't touched it in years. It was junked to me and I rode it around the yard once and put it where it sits now. Has Shoei (sp?) bags and a windjammer on it. Was in good shape then not sure about now.

Looks kind of cool. But if you have to cut the tank to allow for the cylinders, something is out of whack. Just like on the R-3 Classic, the tank is shaped to allow for the fuel injection. It doesn't seem symmetrical

I remember you posting about it a few years ago. A faded burgundy color if memory serves. I'm patient, I'll wait for you to get around to treating it better.  There's a guy on another forum who turned his CX into a dirt/adventure bike that really looks like fun. Unfortunately, I don't have those fabrication skills.
Mine took me to the Florida Keys and the Carolina mountains on many occasions. It was a great bike solo - then I got married and just HAD to have a Gold Wing. Big mistake. 
I've always been tempted to pick up a Guzzi or an old airhead BMW (yeah, I know you've got at least one of them tucked away too - you SOB ) , but there's no decent dealer nearby. Dealer issues have kept me from trying some really good bikes. I guess if I had more confidence in my mechanical skills.....

I'll never do anything with it, I have too much vintage Brit stuff to play with. And yes it is burgundy if I remember right. I don't even know if the engine still turns over. front brake was stuck when I last tried to push it out of my way to pull a truck part.Just like all my triple 2 strokers will never be touched again in all probability.

Holy ****, Steve! I totally agree with ya. That custom-built CX500 Dual-Sport IS cool as hell, alright!!!  Back in '78 I purchased a new CX500, and it was a great little bike...until it was stolen a couple years later.  And, I also remember a friend having a CX650 SilverWing back in the early '80s, and he absolutely loved his bike, too. He rode that baby coast-to-coast a couple of times.

Youch! That's a lotta mulah! My uncle had two Guzzi's back in the day, a 650 and a 1000. My cousin inherited them and they still run, although they don't look that great and don't get ridden much. The motors and most of the mechanicals were very tough and reliable, but the electrics were crappy and the controls were a constant source of problems. Still, all in all, a good bike.

What I'm REALLY after is a donor to put my '71 H1 500 mach III back on the road.
Due to the cost of shipping a full bike across the continent, I'd settle for the electrical system, ignition only (CDI, resisters, regulator, etc).
This is NOT a independent system (three coils), but the older system that used a distributor cap and a single coil.
Any Kaw's in that collection???

I like the tank cut out design, where Moto Guzzi heavily plays on its v twin heritage, this is a neat way to play it up to design advantage.

I still have 3, the 750 Water Buffalo, that one is almost complete and in a shed. The other 2 have robbed some parts and sit outside. All 3 ran when I stopped messing with them. The 2 380s don't turn over anymore, the 750 probably does. They are Suzukis not the Kawasaki version.

So it was cold and I was running errands near the Moto Guzzi shop and decided I'd stop in and look around. I sat on this bike and Wow! When the time comes to add a touring bike...this is much sweeter than just about anything else, I've looked at.

Might be useful if you ride in a cold climate.
I like it because it's different but I wouldn't buy one.
