Merry Christmas! Nice to see you are looking to the positive on such a "horrible" and "miserable" time of year to suffer through.

My wife and I started dating about this time of year. We lived in Colorado so it was very festive and seasonally appropriate, what with snow and all.

It's always been good for me.

Can't speak for my wife.

You're a mean one, Mister Rich

Now it's much too soon to b*tch,
about the Christmas season,
of which you'd like to ditch,
Mister Rich,

Now, now, what's REALLY wrong?
Did your elevator plans, (wait for it)

run into a HITCH???

At the old firm, I would always volunteer to do call out on Christmas day.
My reasoning was that somebody had to do it, it didn't mean much to me (still doesn't) and as I wouldn't see my daughter until Boxing day it might as well be me, rather than someone who had a family.

And before you think I did it for the money, the money wasn't that great. The main reason was that if I did that day, I wouldn't have to do any other day over the holiday period, when I did have my daughter

Plus I'm a Bah Humbug kinda guy

I think that's GREAT of you, Bryn ol' boy!

Only one question here though...

What weight class is your daughter in? Flyweight or Welterweight maybe? And aren't ya just a bit apprehensive whenever she enters the ring???

(...yeah, yeah, I know what "Boxing Day" is to you blokes over there...but ya gotta know I couldn't pass this one up, RIGHT?!)

I don't worry too much about it. Despite popular belief that "Xmas" is an attempt to secularize Christmas, "X" comes from the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter of the Greek word that is translated as "Christ".

That was a very enlightening tidbit of information. I believe I may actually print out some little slips of paper to hand out to bellicose 'holier than thou' types I may encounter to confuse them and cause consternation in their lives.

I have a purpose for the Holidays.

That and repaired the two vertebrae I think I crushed on my mountain bike.

You've managed to revived the long thought dead 'aww, that's sweet' gene deep inside me. My daughter owns me. Fortunately, she only uses he power for good.

I didn't used to like Xmas but now with the grand kids I love it. Nothing like seeing the excitement and joy on their faces. I don't care if anyone does anything for me the joy they feel is enough.

I like this time of year. It's the only time when people don't look at me like I'm nutz when I feel like singing 'Deck us all with Boston Charley'.

Here you go. Very controversial but handle it as you will.

It is what you make of it.

Crazy, reactionary, whatever else you have.

It's not up to anyone else what the holidays mean to you and your family.
