OK, here's the status quo.

Me, quit working full time a couple years ago. Paid pretty good as a very specialized therapist in highly technical field a few hours a week. Work about 2 days a week. Kinda over it but it's a great gig. Not a lot of money but not a lot of work. Also have a couple LLC's with real estate stuff that pay for health insurance and a few bucks after. Minor health issue, narrowing of spinal canal putting pressure on spinal cord with various and sundry unpleasantness. Worse when I 'overdo it'.

Wife, works 2-4 days a week. Paid really well. Bored to tears and dislikes job because it does not challenge her. Note: wife is really, really smart, owns a Bonnie and a KLR, and is pretty hot (already posted pics once so don't ask again). Makes Bonnie look better with her on it.

Wife comes home today. Got offered a very challenging full time job for lots of money, gets to keep her 8 weeks vacation a year she had when she quit full time gig, gets health insurance we are currently paying $18,000/year out of pocket. Wife suggests she take job and I quit working and take it easy.

Dear God in Heaven I love this woman.

Well Chet, yeah. MY guess is that you were EITHER some kinda Albert Schweitzer-like dude in some past life, OR...you're just one lucky bastard, alright!

(...and seein' as how I'm not necessary an adherent to the concept of "Reincarnation", I'm gonna go with my latter guess here!)

That's the direction I'm leaning. I really don't get it but I'm not gonna second guess.

Ok Chet now I KNOW you're a compulsive liar. Nobody is that lucky and if you are then enjoy it while it lasts because I'm coming over there to kill you just to even things up a bit. (Don't be offended by a bit of Aussie humor).

Cheers, Richard

You must be one heck of a guy too though to have such great fortune come your way, or is all of this happening 'in spite of yourself.' Either way you're in a position which is easily the envy of many of us out here. Good on ya, man!

Hey Chet, fancy a bit of wife swapping?

50-50 sounds good to me.

I'll even throw in the airfares.

I'm gonna have to agree with Dwight one the latter part of his post there. However in regards to you posting pictures of your wife on here, I think that may be a fib, never seen em. Maybe she used to be really hott and has since changed a bit and thats why you refuse to post anything now?

The trick is to marry a "cash cow" when you're young enough and have the health and energy to enjoy it.

Hmmmm...I don't know if usin' the word "cow" here is quite proper, Mac...well, at least in Chet's case here anyway.

(...'cause I remember when Chet posted that picture of his wife, and she is ANYTHING but a "cow"...nope, gotta admit she IS pretty darn attractive, alright....the lucky BASTARD!!!!)

No, and I hate that. Too many irons in the fire. I think we're gonna head over to east Tennessee and pick up the eastern end and go as far west as time allows. Then ride it in sections. I'd love to do it straight through but it looks like Ruthie's time demands may be a bit tougher. She's been working PRN ("as needed") and could basically work as much or as little as she wanted and then just not work when we wanted to take a long trip.

The new job isn't a done deal but the people in charge came to her and said that she is the one they wanted for it, so it looks like it's gonna happen. She's one of those people that is really good at whatever they do but once she's mastered a job she gets bored. Besides being able to 'fix' things, she doesn't care who gets the credit and can give criticism and make people feel good about receiving it so people like working with her. Really great communication skills. This is a position they have seemingly created for her to 'fix' a department, Clinical Informatics(is that even a real word?), that has been described as a 'mess'. She's pretty excited about it which almost surprises me as I didn't think she'd ever want to work full time again. She's been there a long time so she get a ton of vacation (8 weeks) if they plug her back into to seniority she had when left went PRN a couple years ago. They did last time.

Yeah, I'm a crazy lucky Dude, for sure. I don't take it, or her for granted, believe me. I know I can get a bit nauseating when I go on about her but she's amazing.

I HAVE considered the possibility that I'm living in a 'Matrix' tube being fed nutrients and living a fantasy. If so, please don't open the door.

No offense intended, but the "cash cow" euphemism is a more universally understood nomenclature than "cash fox".

Yep Bill, you're probably right.

However, I DO recall FOR SURE Chet once telling us that he doesn't often drink beer, but when he does, he prefers Dos Equis!
