Hey just read a post from Thom on Facebook. He and Nina were involved in an accident... a hit and run ..please read his post and keep the family in your thoughts and prayers

Now that both my girls and my Mom have been told... Nina and I were in a very serious car accident last night on the PA turnpike. They cut us out of the trailblazer and brought us to the same hospital where Mom is... I escaped with just a lot of scratches and bruises, but Nina's right leg was pretty messed up below the knee. They did emergency surgery on it last night and got it stabilized, but she is going to have a long road ahead. My phone is gone for now, but I have Nina's. we are both alive and with no apparent spinal or internal injuries. I will post as I can but we will take whatever good thoughts and prayers we can get. At last, the PA state troopers had not caught the person who hit us and sent us off the very wet road over the guardrail.

I hafta admit I was almost afraid to read the post, thought it might be about one of the precious girls, hate it about the misses, but it's a relief that they are still among the mortals.
Dang, life is fragile.

Really bad news, Hope you guys both heal up OK and hope they catch the person at fault. I had a close call this morning myself on the way to work. It was raining when I woke up and as I left the house for work it turned to a sort of ice/snow. It quickly covered the road and was very slippery. A clown in a VW spun out about 100' in front of me. He spun about 3 or so times in front of me before bouncing through the grassy ditch between the sides of the highway. I saw him get out and look at his car as I went by so he was OK.

Wishing you both a full and speedy recovery.

And I hope they get the bar-steward who caused it

My sentiments too. Hang in there Thom and get Nina back on her feet.

I'm not on Facebook and I don't know Thom or Nina personally and I'm struggling to place him on this forum. What's his BA alias? Thanks if someone can enlighten me. Regardless, this is a very hard thing to see your wife going through this. They are in my prayers for speedy healing and that some good can come out of this.

Cheers, Richard

I'm very sorry to hear that, hope they heal well and fast.

It's shocking that someone could be involved in a hit & run and cause that kind of damage without stopping.

Last month my wife was hit from behind on I-80 in NJ. She was unharmed and the car was driveable, but it was later totalled by insurance.
The other driver never stopped, and no one on that crowded road called it in. My wife was lucky it didn't turn into a NASCAR-type wreck.

Best wishes to Thom & Nina.

Thom posted some crash site photos on his Facebook page. I don't know how to post them here...( Moe, any help? ) . Anyone that is on FB should check them out... it is truly a miracle they both survived. There are also updates on Nina who is recovering from emergency surgery on her leg.. keep those positive thoughts and prayers going for them and the family.... ride safe, Gordon

Thank you all! We are making headway. Nina has a lot of work ahead to make her leg workable again, but she hopes to be ready for riding season :-)

Good to hear you are both on the mend. By the looks of those pictures it's a miracle you made it out alive. You both must be very traumatized. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery in all ways.
