Our friend Gary (SMWasp04), tells me his bike was in the shop recently for a bad TPS....said the shop (Polaris West)(Triumph dealer, Katy, Tx) wanted $2K for new carbs?

Then found an aftermarket part installed for $400....

I can't find the former posts on the TPS, but I remember some had disconnected theirs...I even did the same for a while, I think.

Can anyone help with a link to those old posts?

Thanks, Keith and Keith. I wish I had known to try this disconnect before I had it towed to the shop. They said the faulty TPS was sending a bad signal to the computer and that was why the timing was off and the backfiring through the left carb.

Yeah, $2043 for a pair of carbs from England. You have to replace the whole carb to fix the TPS, they act as a unit and are tuned to each other according to the Triumph guys. Do I hear scam?
