Okay...I finally got around to installing my Easy brackets.
Simple enough. Remove a fender bolt...install the mounting post/bolt. Slide Easy Bracket on mounting posts.
Problem: Left bracket goes on/comes off nice and easy. Right bracket is a hard to get on and an SOB to get off.
I tried shimming out the rearmost mounting post/bolt with a washer. It seemed to help a little...but not much.
Anyone have a similar problem?
FYI: Speedmaster w/o sissybar.

Mine is a bit of a PITA too, both sides shimmed differently... I think honestly the slots on the brackets themselves are actually TOO closely matched. Not enough slop in the tolerances. Granded, they sit on there nice and tight. I usually have to give my bags a good whack with the heel of my hand to get them to move.

I used a dremel tool to slightly open the slots on the plates to ease tehe on and off. Now locks much easier and still has a nice snug fit.
Just do a little at a time and try the fit.

First time I mounted my bags on the bike, I put the right bracket/bag on the left side. Like to never got it off! Couldn't close the latch to remove the key, so it wasn't fully seated. Had to beat it off with a block of wood.
Mine seem to go on and off the correct sides without a hitch. Remember the lock goes toward the rear of the bike.
It was late, and had been a long day.

Yup. I had the same problem. I used a dremel and took a little paint off around the hole in the bracket. Now it slides into the groove a bit easier. Not perfect but much better.
You don't have a sissy bar, do you? Then you need different spacers from the Easy Bracket people.

Thanks for the replies.
Nope...no sissy bar.
Right bracket on right side (the hard one to get on/off). Left bracket on the left side (goes on nice and easy).
Looks like I might have to dig out the Dremel.
I did fire off an email to the Easy Bracket company...I'll see what they say before I Dremel the bracket.

I may have to break out my dremel. Still experimenting with that thing as to which bits are best for which materials. Aluminum tend to load up everything... I know the brackets are steel, so I'll probly use the grinding stone.

Mine was related to the wrong set of posts as I have a back rest and they were slightly different than the ones for stock. Once I got the right ones, they worked perfect, no messing about. The first time I mounted them I had the front and rear ones mixed up, but that didn't look like it could even be forced on. And no...I didn't read the directions! eddy

i think sometimes the powdercoat on the bracket is a couple mils too thick and the posts have such a close tolerance (which is good) that it takes some wearing in to get it all to mesh. i had issues with mine at first and now they're perfect.

Same deal here.. right side was a PITA to get on and off, left side fit like a glove. I believe the problem with mine is that the nut welded on the back of the support is not exactly aligned, so it's maybe a degree or so out of whack. What worked for me was to put the post on the front, put the bracket only on the front post, swing it up a bit and push it towards the bike to bend the metal just a hair. After a couple of tries, it fits perfect now.. slides on and off like butter on a hot tin roof.
Cheers, Brad

That's what kind of seems to be the problem in my case...alignment. If I go a little crazy and shim out the rear mounting post with a couple extra washers...it becomes very obvious.
Maybe it's time for a little careful bending.
