I gave my garage a bit of a clean-up this afternoon & thought I would snap off a couple of pics of my two babies, a 1971 TR6R Tiger & my 2006 Bonneville America. They always seem content when parked beside each other and are both great bikes in their own way. Every man has to have a hobby and these two are mine. Hope you enjoy the snaps?

Nice bikes. Nice garage.

Now, where you hiding all your garage "stuff"?

Envious actually. Mine's a disaster area - even after I straighten it up.

Great lookin' bikes there, John!

(...and I really like all the wall art in your garage too!)

Beaut bikes John. And an immaculate garage ... Except for the drip tray under the Tiger.

Isn't that standard equipment?

NICE bikes John.

Yeah, and what's with that garage anyway?
I'd post a picture of mine but I'm afraid I might not find my way back out after I take it.

Not a drip tray Richard, just a block of radiata pine that the centre stand sits on to insulate the Tiger from the concrete floor.
Previously the security chain securing my Tiger to the ground anchor was actually conducting current from the positive earth to the floor and pitting the alloy engine case where the security chain sat. By raising (insulating) the bike's centre stand off the concrete and sitting rags under the security chain I no longer encounter this problem any more. I don't know if any other owners of positive earth bikes here have come across this problem but it's not uncommon with some of the old fellas in my vintage bike club and they put me onto this method to prevent current leakage off the bike. Could be just an urban myth but seems to work for me.

Thanks! So, those are the "jumbo strong" bags? Did you have to relocate the rear turn signals?

I'm considering some primered hard-bags that I can paint to match my bike, and really like the look of those.

John, the Tiger looks beautiful. Did you do the restoration?

Mike,
There is still plenty of clearance with the factory turn indicators. Its up to the person doing the install to position the bags on the brackets supplied wherever they see fit. I had the bags colour matched to the aluminium colour my tank insert is. They use the Hinckley paint codes to ensure the correct match. Here is a link to more pics on my bags.

I bought the Tiger supposedly in a restored state about 10 years ago Richard but as a fellow OCD sufferer it just wasn't good enough and I have now completely gone over the old girl again (my way) to the point I just class it as a rolling restoration from now on improving little things as they become apparent. Probably the best improvement I can say I have done apart all the cosmetic stuff including paint & pinstriping is to go to progressive front springs and the softest fork oil available (2.5 grade). The old Tiger use to ride like a rigid but now is more like a limo ride comfort wise. Thanks again for the compliments.
