I changed the front sprocket from 18 to 16 to make the bike more novice freindly and created a pretty good speedometer error in the process.
So, I am trying to correct the speedometer error on a 2012 speedmaster using tuneecu. has anyone else attempted this? I am able to see all of the other adjustable parameters in the map and have the edit option, but not for the speedometer, it shows it and percent but will not give edit. I have triedboth disconnected and connected to the bike. I am using tuneecuV2.3.5 any thoughts? experience?

I have loaded and edited (and then loaded) maps with TuneECU. But I have a mechanical speedo and have not experimented with this. Have you "saved" the map the bike is currently using? If possible you would have to then edit and save the map and renaming or adding a character to the name to ID it would be a good measure. Then download the edited map to the bike. I will look at a map for a newer model and see how the speedo correction might work just to know.

Well now, I looked at the 20516 & 20516_custom maps for LCD models. I'm still using TuneECU 2.0 and the "speed adjust" parameter is there but grayed out. I could not find a way to edit it. Have seen speedometer correction discussed on TRat but believe it was about other models. You may want to send a note to Alain F and see if it is supposed to work for the America/Speedmaster line. Think I might look at a Bonneville map for LCD models and see if it can be edited for them.
edit: Just checked a Bonneville file (#20500) and the "speed adjust" is not grayed out and can be edited.

I talked to the guys at team triumph yesterday about this and they are seeing the same thing (grayed out) At least it is not just me screwing up with the tune ecu.
Interesting about the Bonnie tunes having that available. Maybe an oversight somewhere?

got it fixed, needed a patch from the tune ecu guys, all better now. I was a bit suprised that with 2 years of production on the all electronic america and speedmaster (and probably the scrambler) all with the same tunes that it had not come up before. I would have thought that many sprocket changes would have occured, affecting many speedometers.

Probably has somewhere but I haven't seen it. Glad you got it sorted. My bigger surprise is the lack of tunes for our 270 motors and mods. I had cams & big bore done. Made some map changes w/ TuneECU based on Dyno runs and local shop guidance for "close enough for now" tune. I ended up riding 250 miles (one way) to a shop for a good proper tune using TuneECU. Every shop around me is Power Commander minded only.

I'm more surprised that Triumph doesn't offer their mechanics the ability to modify the digital speedo in the ECM. Perhaps because Triumph consider the speedo merely an indication of temporal transferance and not an accurate guage of velocity.

I asked the dealer about the triumph tool when this tune ecu problem came up and they said it could not make any changes like that. From what I gather with the sport bike guys they change sprockets and adjust the speedos all of the time at track days, but have to use tune ecu to do it.
