OK, so Don Julio is being a major influence here, But now I'm getting into the lyrics (and whoever is was that posted something about command of the English language getting better with alcohol consummtion, well in this case you're probably right. That other dude was just rambling, but I'm groovin' and there's a substantial amount of Jalisco's finest involved). Now then, I'm kinda torn here as to the best songwriters. There's Bruce: web pageAnd Paul: web pageAnd Carol: web pageOk, let's hear from some of you, although I'll probably be in the sack when you read this, but it could be fun.

yep, impossible question to answer. far to many to list. possibly a better question would be who has been the most influencial song writer and then we may venture into people like Coen, or hammerstein, or possibly someone like Handy??? Mozart???

Well put, this is so subjective, we all bring our personal taste to the question. Besides, there are probably song writers, that never got credit for their product or that only folks in the business even know about, that have had huge influences in modern music. One could make the argument that very few outside the music business even knew who Carol King was prior to her huge hit album around 1970. One can only imagine the numbers of that vinyl worn out in college dorms at the time.
