Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Btw, ya know what?! I've just noticed that SOMEBODY at NASA years ago slightly misspelled the name of this spacecraft which was built in the Good Ol' U.S. of A! (...and I'll bet you guys know what I'm talkin' about here, don't ya?!...yep, it seems there was one those needless letter "u"s in its "official" name...so I GUESS the question here is: WHY would NASA ever allow some Brit, Kiwi, Aussie OR Canuck to name this baby, HUH???!!!)

I saw it Thursday morning as it was leaving Houston. Just as I'm coming up to I-10, there she was - flying right over the freeway. Way to short a glimpse - no way I could get my phone out, on, and get a shot, but I did get one brief broadside view from a fairly close range.
Looked like a minnow atop a whale....

I was at Kennedy as they were preparing to load her up a couple of weeks ago. ...but as for the name, well I guess we need to re-write world history to suit as "The orbiter is named after the British HMS Endeavour, the ship which took Captain James Cook on his first voyage of discovery (1768–1771)"

I was outside with my laptop on the NASA Channel. Had my iPhone and Nikon Camera at the ready. Once the birds took flight, they flew over the VAB then South along the beaches to Patrick AFB. Then, unbeknownst to me, up the Indian River! After standing in the bed of my truck I figured out that I would not be able to see the birds being a wee bit too far West of the beach. So the laptop and phone and camera were placed on the washing maching and I got on my bicycle. Rode East, then South then West. Just about that time I heard jet engines and thought no way, looked up and right THAR was the Endeavour. At arms length they were almost two feet in length. Flying low and slow. Wisps of clouds cloaking then revealing them. The Sun to my back. What a sight. Goosebumps for sure. Stunning sight.

Bobbie & I walked down to the beach and watched it fly by shortly after it took off from KSC. I have seen more than a couple dozen shuttle launches, and the last two shuttles fly off on the back of the 747 transport.
