It is that time once again to honor achievements that first make people laugh, and then make them think. about the ignobel awards the winners My favourite this year... " LITERATURE PRIZE: The US Government General Accountability Office, for issuing a report about reports about reports that recommends the preparation of a report about the report about reports about reports. REFERENCE: "Actions Needed to Evaluate the Impact of Efforts to Estimate Costs of Reports and Studies," US Government General Accountability Office report GAO-12-480R, May 10, 2012." Government at work.

Funny, good find. I wonder, how many of those meaningless studies were privately financed?

I must be part chimp cause this is how I used to tell my girlfrieds apart. ANATOMY PRIZE: Frans de Waal [The Netherlands and USA] and Jennifer Pokorny [USA] for discovering that chimpanzees can identify other chimpanzees individually from seeing photographs of their rear ends.

CBC radio was speaking about these this evening. funny yet thought provoking may they continue to persue such trivial but pehaps in the end pertinent research.

Now THAT would be a worthwhile study! It shouldn't be that difficult to ascertain.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Now, THAT was a funny read! Just finished translating a document here from a soon to be phD who wrote his final paper about: "People who like their job tend to work more." He'll be given a university teaching position after this... hopes he likes it! Seemed fitting to read the other researches from that link.... and it was a blast! Thanks!
