This morning I noticed a small amount of oil around the crankcase filter. Not much but never seen it before. Wondering if it's an issue that I need to look futher into or what. Runs fine, sounds the same. Changed oil about 1200 miles ago, level is good. Cleaned all filters about 2000 miles ago. However this is the original filter I put on about 20k ago when I ditched the Airbox. Any ideas?

If it is as small as I perceive from your description, I would not worry about. Sometimes pressure rises and a small amount of oil vapours can escape through it, thats what this is for. ¿Is the crankcase filter located high enough? Having it located under the carbs will probably force a small amount of oil to show up sometimes.

Eventually it will get oil soaked, and then it will drip a bit. Clean it and reinstall, or replace with a new one.

Yeah, may be time to replace it, cause like I said just cleaned it not to long ago, but never seen this before. Thanks for the advice.

My filter has a stainless mesh instead of the cotton style, so I can just rinse with some thinner and let it dry. It sits all the way up under my seat and still gets enough oil to drip occasionally.

Normal, IMO.

What specifically is the oil level? (with the bike level, of course)

I fixed my filter so it is just above the chain. Whatever drips
Out is onto the chain and away, I know not where.

the breather from the old twins used to blow on the chain, thus my never lube habit.
