So is there really any differnce between so-called EFI stock pipes and say the stockers from like an '02 America?

I believe the EFI versions have cats.

Thanks. So does that mean they will not work out so well with a carb set up?

I have 2010 EFI headers and carbs on my '04. You'll have to plug the bungs for the O2 sensor but they fit up perfectly. I have no clue about my TORs but I suspect they were bought pre EFI by the PO.

They should still work OK with carbs.

They'll still work. Just more restricted gas flow, so your performance may suffer a bit and you will need to re-jet.

To be honest, after replacing my pipes and SS silencers with EFI pipes and long TORs my performance improved dramatically. I only replaced the pipes to obtain chrome to match the TORS as my original pipes were black ceramic coated but there you have it, one real life experience.

So Ed, you put EFI pipes and silencers on a carb setup?

Whoops just saw your earlier post. Sorry.

Perhaps your previous pipes/setup were too open - not enough back pressure affects performance as much as too much back pressure.

The cats are in the pipes, not the headers. I have not personally looked inside of an EFI cat pipe, so I can't tell you if the cats in any way restrict flow.

Cats will always restrict flow. Depending on the number of cells per inch determines how much the flow is restricted.

I believe the only diff. with EFI header pipes vs carb headers are the sensor bungs. At least as so, on the set I acquired.

There were some EFI headers that had cats in them. But only in California and Europe (if my memory serves me well ... Which it doesn't so much these days.)
