Had a great couple of days this week . Went to the Paralympic games twice this week. Thursday afternoon in Velodrome. Then Friday the Velodrome in the morning and the Athletics in the evening. What an experience it has been . To watch them all try so hard .They have spent 4 years to get there and it was all over in a few minutes for some of them. But is so worth it for them all . To have become an Olympic Competitor must be fantastic. How they ride there bikes with there disability makes you really think how much determination they must have. The atmosphere was something that I have never experience before. I was lucky see Team GB win Golds at both events and to see the GB flag raised brought tears to my eyes. I have got a ticket for next week as well so am really looking forward to another visit. This has been a lifetime experience which I don’t think I will see again . A home Olympics. The park is huge and everyone there is so friendly .No pushing and shoving in the crowds. These memories will last for ever. I salute all the competitors that took part. Atb geoff

It's a shame they don't get near the amount of coverage the Olympics get. Very inspirational stuff.

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

I'm glad you got to attend, Geoff. I work with people with physical and developmental disabilities every day and it's amazing to see their accomplishments. Some times I take it for granted since it's my job. When I think about it though, my little problems in life are small compared to what they have to go through. Some of the folks I work with are involved in Special Olympics. Yeah Like Dave said, it's too bad the Para Games are not given more air time.
