so i thought ide do the bonneville tank swap on me speedy.so i trawled ebay n found a 09 bonneville tank witha bit of ding in the side,no biggie.won it fer a reasonable,ish price.postman delivered today,ding aint that bad,but wtf,cant find were the petcock goes n its got a gert hole underneath were there should be,what i think should be a plate bolted on.surley this isnt were the petcock goes,seems a daft design if it is.anybody come across this when they were doin this mod,any ideas before i start lookin through some websites search engines.ta very much.

09 is fuel injected. what year is your bike?

doh.just had look on triumph parts site.yeah its were the fuel injection system goes,arse.looks like al be gettin me mate t do a bit o weldin for me n puttin a petcock on.arse again.thought ide got a bit of a bargin,teach me to look more closley at what ime buyin next time,haha

Just cut a boilerplate for over the fuel pump opening, buy the fuel pump gasket for your plate templet and mounting holes location. then drill your petcock holes and install. I have a pristine '09 Thrux tank intended for just such a future project involving a carbed bike, myself. Not too scary. I kinda like an access to inside the tank.

Plus, with that big whole in the bottom you might be able to tap out that small ding.
