I know a few folks have fitted the Koso D-64 or Acewell digital speedometers in the dash, but I have been fighting a loosing battle to get the cable to fit an simple analogue gauge.

It is definately winning, so I am thinking of changing to one of these (Koso DL-02S).

Anyone tried one yet?

I know someone with the same speedo as you are thinking of,and he reckons its great on the bars but not easy to see in bright light when dash mounted..this is why i went for the koso with analogue style pointer and digital odo/trip.No probs checking speed day or night with mine in the dash

Thanks for the comments Horse.

Reading back through your posts you say your speedo was from Digital Speedos; did you go with the D-64 (which which has the telltales, and which we can get in US) or the D-55 GP (http://www.kosoeurope.com/d55-gp-style-speedometermax-160-kmh-black)?

We can't get the GP style D-55 here (other than a white HD version), and Digital Speedos have even recently stop listing the D-55.

Also did you run the magnetic sensor and bolt, or use one of their mechanical to digital drive converters?

One of those may just give the extra little clearance and rotation to allow the cable to fit the mechanical speedo.

Thanks Ryk....back to 'plan a'

Why not use the pick up on the rear disc...I have the Acewell and that is what I run...took the front cable off and left the speedo pick up in place on the front wheel. Get a rare earth magnet they work better and epoxy glue it to a caliper bolt....if you want I could shot some pic's of my mounting....

Thanks for the offer SDKimo.

At the moment I am waiting on delivery of the angled bezel Ryk found.....the more I look at it the more I think it will angle the basic analogue speedo backwards to allow the regular cable to fit.

If not I have one of the Koso units (same as Horse) being shipped from UK.

What did I end up doing? Oh yeah, with my Acewell nicely fitted in the dash, I mounted the pick up at the rear bolt location for the chain guard (I run sans guard) and crazy glued that r. e. magnet right on the end of a sprocket bolt. Works like a charm!
