You mean that company who completely (as in logo, web design, products, etc.) ripped off the Fast Company, the original makers of Draggin Jeans?

Real Draggin Jeans are sold via dealers in the US and Canada only. There is no such legitimate company in Australia. They are thieves.

Sorry Stewart, I am not yelling at you. I just cannot abide thieves.

From what I understand real Draggin Jeans are sold via dealers in the U.S. but will ship to Canada. The Austrailian Draggin Jeans and the Canadian Draggin Jeans are the same company.

According to the American Draggin Jean people, the Americans were not only first, but were the ones that invented the concept.

Without upset my buddies over there...My uncle insists everything was invented in America.....even things that weren't!!

Does it really matter who came up with them first?? They're a fantastic product whoever makes them.

My aussie one's are so comfy. We don't get the American ones over here. I have the cargo's, and live in them.

Anyone know if the sizing runs big or small compared to normal jeans? I'm always a little skeptical to order clothing online, but the nearest dealer is like 50 miles away.

Benny it's funny how the relative difference in things is the most important factor (not absolute)... I am about 50 miles away from the nearest town here in the Mojave, the closest dealer for me is 215 miles away! Soooo, I WISH my closest dealer was 50 miles away. Are you still planning to move to MASS? There are 2-3 other guys on this site from Boston, Im looking forward to meeting up with you.

Gee, sounds like a good reson for a ride. My nearest dealer is 86 miles away, I am going to take a ride down there as soon as I get back from my Deployment, which, hopefully, will be next weekend!!

Looking forward to my first ride...

My first pair was 36x34 and while they are accurate on the sizes I got the second pair in 36 length to cover boots better while riding. They are not slim legged at all but not baggy either.Like most soft denim they're comfy with room for Duofolds underneath when it's cold. They work.Be carefull. I ordered a pair in 36x34 of their standand jeans . I received them the other day and found them to be uncomfortable in the area they call the rise. This is the length from the crotch to the waist. I needed a skosh more room. I checked their website and saw that the pair they call the Utility Jeans had an inch and half more rise. I received these a few days back and found that they were much more comfortable than the standard jean that they sell. You might want to keep this in mind when doing a mail order. You can find these measurements on their web site.

The web site does a good job of explaining the different styles. They do not have the cargo type jeans. The Utility jeans are the closest to cargo type. www.dragginjeans.com

Hi Gina, I agree that it does not matter who develops a product and your uncle is dead wrong. Everything was not invented here!

Think of this though. What if you spent time, money and energy developing, manufacturing, and marketing the latest widget only to have another company steal your idea and bring it to their market? How would you feel, seeing your product on the market and you not getting a penny for all your efforts?

Here in the US, your recourse would be a patent infringment suit. With an overseas company, it is very difficult to get a cease and desist order. Large companies walk away and move onto something else. Small companies (like the developers of Draggin Jeans) lose money and potentially go out of business. The proper way for these outlaw companies would have been to license the product.

Like Phil said, it doesnt really matter who came up with them first. However, the Australian/Canadian company could have had the decency to at the very minimum come up with a different name.

You are right though, they all seem like terrific products.

Curiosity got the better of me Gina so I wrote to the Australian Draggin Jeans company and asked if they were affiliated with the US company. Here is their reply:

hi phil and thanks for contacting us.

i started with the person who set up dj in the u.s.

we sell everywhere but there...that was the deal....so i do not sell to dealers in the u.s. but web sales we both do from whereever.

unfortunately he is no longer with us.

our product range and protective lining is now quite different to...look for differences...but they are cheaper.

let me know if i can help more

I presume he meant the American ones are cheaper!!!!

OR is it because to get mine I had to set foot in a Hardley dealer and they saw the machine I rode up on.....so in a fit of envy decided that whatever I bought they were gonna put 25% on top of RRP??!!!

Well I've compared prices.... USD of course Exact same logo on both sites by the way...

Aussi draggin cargos $110 plus 25 shipping.
USA utility jeans, $100 plus 10-ish shipping.
$25 difference to get the style I want.... Hmmm, tough choice!

Of course last night was thismorning in australia, so I got instant replies from that Grant guy with my questions about shipping etc. So I sent him a pic of my bike. He sent me back a pic of his ..... Daytona with him on it going around a track!! Nice guy. Should have my pants by tuesday.

I wore the Utility Draggin jeans on a ride today for the first time since receiving them. They were very comfortable right from the start. They seem to be of very high quality. They will probably be a bit hot come mid summer though.

Well I got my Aussi Draggin Cargos today. Aparently they either don't have asses or nutsacks in Australia because they are not the roomiest as far as "rise" goes, but certainly workable. Just need to be sure everything is properly adjust when I mount the cycle Overall very happy! Should take them for a spin tonight. They came with some knee pads, but there's no pouch to slip them into, I guess they just velcro to the inside? Gina?

Mine don't have them but I would assume that you could just velcro them on in the right place.

However I may just nip to the HD dealer and ask them where they are....
