Does any of you stereo buffs out there know if there is such a thing as a wireless headphone setup that can plug into the head phone jack of my stereo? I has a little problem with hearing loss (too many years of riding without a helmet and power tools) and the wife is complaining about the tv being too loud while she is in the room. My stereo is hooked to the tv so I can listen to it through it. But a cord attached to a headphone would lay right across the walking area. If I had a wireless head phone, I could put them on while the wife reads her book or other stuff. And if we watch a show together, she could use the regular tv sound and I could listen to an amplified version through the stereo. My local Radio Shacks stink so there's no point in trying there. (two stores, with the most unhelpful staff you ever saw. And I swear I know more about basic electronic stuff than they do, and I don't know squat!)Anybody out there heard of such a thing?

Yup, Rich... there's so much wireless stuff out there these days it boggles the mind. Not that I've researched it but I bet there's a readily available Bluetooth solution to your needs. Bluetooth has pretty much wriggled it's way to the top as the wireless standard.

They exist and can be very cheap or very expensive.
I would honestly look up reviews on Amazon and BestBuy.com then find the best price BUT be sure to check return policy as those things are 50/50 from what Ive seen.
Most sales people don't know much about them so I see returns and most are due to connectivity or poor performance.
The connectivity... know what type of connection your going to use. Are you using a 3.5 or a 1/4" jack. Are you using RCA outputs from the source. Mono or stereo. etc...
The next is poor performance... well. With electronics you get what you pay for and sometimes get lucky. More importantly... check operating frequency of the headphones and compare it to other devices in your home including your wireless router. My favorite story was a guy that had returned a few pair of wireless headphones. Hw was pissed and management didn't know what to do so they asked me to talk to him. Come to find out his headphones dropped every time his wife or kids were on the phone. He bought a new phone.

Hope that helps.

I picked up a set of bluetooth over the ear headphones to wear while I cut grass. I can listen to stored music or streaming content from my android phone instead of the lawn mower. Radio Shack has become a bad joke.

Hey Bill. I was just about one click away from buying these when I saw the little box in the testimonial section on the right. A couple of reviewers stated "will not work with Plasma tv." Guess what. That's what we have! Thanks for the input, however. I'll keep looking.

I don't see what having a plasma has to do with it, they plug in the back of the TV in the audio out jacks.Plasma TVs have those too.

The article said that somehow the light that is emitted interferes with the radio transmission . Don't understand it myself.
