From here http://www.britishonly.com/Don't even know if they will fit. A $25 experiment. If they fit I will post the part number. They are generic and black. Don't even know what they look like, no pictures on that site. Should have them in 7 days or so ...

It is for older bikes, when I had my 60s brits and had the parts manual it was an easy site to use ...
Now that I am doing some research on Gaitor I am also finding out that a bike like BSA called them spring Garters.
I looked at Menards and Home Depot and could not find anything I wanted.

Well, I would not say they are pretty, they are functional though. A black tension wire, not a band like a hose clamp, about as thick as a coat hanger. You know those clamps , the ones that are used on gas lines. The ones you squeeze the two things that stick up to actually make them open. Like that. I think if I do leave them on I will cut off the two little tabs?things that you squeeze, once they are on the bike that is.
This was part # 01-97-2083

Looks much better than a hose clamp.
Learning from my mistakes... again and again.
