This morning's pre-ride check revealed an inoperative tail light. The brake light functions. I assumed a burned out light and went to get one. Swapped and still no light. Assumed fuss. Got out my spares and changed it (i think), as the diagram does not seem to correspond to what is in the panel. All other electrical function seems ok. I have replaced the bulb, I've replaced the fusses (as they were in the panel), and wiggled several wires until the cows have come home. Still no light. First, I would like someone to tell me what fusses go into which sockets - Left side, top to bottom, and right side - top to bottom. While I patiently wait for that, I guess I'll try a tester at the bulb socket and then the fuss socket(s). Thanks in advance for any help with the fuse positions.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Brake light switch, it's brake fluid pressure activated, not sure where it's at on the America / Speedy, but mine went bad on the Thruxton, about $15 part. On the Thruxton it was under the right side cover, easy to change out and no need to bleed the fluid.

Try both the front brake and the rear brake...If one lights that will tell you which switch is out..if both don't work then check the ground connections at the light

Brake light is fine. The tail light-the one that should be on always is what isn't working.

If your head light is working and the tail light bulb is good, and fuses are good, it's got to be in the wiring or ground as mentioned.

Problem solved - fuss/circuit issue that took 8 years to surface. Going to celebrate with an evening ride and some dangerously greasy food.

Better than some evening food and a dangerously greasy ride.

Hi,,,I bought a 2007 Bonnevile end of last year from Thom Thompson who sadly has passed away a few months later...Any way while attempting to hook up a license plate light I blew my tail light out..I replaced the the bulb but still no tail light..however the brake light works...Also noticed my front running lights(headlight works) not working as well..With the seat off I could see no fuses or breakers..After reading thru this forum..It appears that there are fuses below the tank..
Does the tank need to be removed to access them? And does anyone know how I would tell which fuse other than pulling and visually looking etc..?..Thanks in advance...Wayne

Standard Bonnie? That'd be fuse #10 under the right side cover if you are certain the lamp is good. Is the front parking light also out?

My headlight works ok..but the running lights(fog lights) on either side are not working either...you say fuse#10 under the cover...Not sure what cover you mean...There is no air-box on my bike..I have 2 k/n filters on each carb...Do I need to remove my tank to access fuses?..

Your fuse box, at least before mods. resides adjacent to your ignition key lock.

My previous 08 Bonneville had the fuse box under the right side cover. When I cut away the air box I fabbed a little bracket to hold the fuse box & brake fluid reservoir in place, still there under the right side cover. I think the ARK packages keep it in the same area.

Standard Bonnie? What else has been modified? The fuse box once resided under the right side cover, it could easily be under the seat now next to the igniter. There's really not much room under the tank for the stock fuse set up.
