 Iso grip throttle issue

I just got home. Yesterday, I noticed the throttle had become a little loose, but was still popping up good. I had adjusted it to where it was perfect. Very little wiggle in any direction and snapped back up very nicely.
Today, after riding around town for errands, I was about halfway home when I decided I was going to romp on her a bit.
I hit first to near red line and released to shift to second, when I goosed her to second, I felt a snap and the throttle rotated about a quarter of the way without resistance before catching again and I was able to get her home.
It seems to be fine once I get resistance, but goes between a quarter or a third a-way around before hitting the resistance that was at the top (like it should be). The top third-ish will stay at the top, but it is weak.
I tried using the adjusters to fix it, but they only help a small amount. I am outside the range of their adjustability.
I have Kuryakyn ISO grips with a throttle boss. Came on the bike when I bought it.
The only issues I've had are the clutch side turns when it gets really hot out and someone stole the endcap off the clutch side. Bastards.
Now, I have an issue I don't know how to deal with.
Can I just take them off an reinstall them? Any ideas what the pop might have been? Thanks guys.

Im thinking one of two things...
1 - the throttle tube, where the cable connects, has broken off.
2 - the cable fell off the "guide". I say this one cause I found mine to be that way when I swapped my master cylinder today.

There is adjustment at the carbs as well. I would at least take a look down there and ascertain your good on the business end.

Can I take the throttle grip apart and get it back together, again? or is there more to it?
I will look on the carb end.

I seem to remember some one having this issue the the iso grip and the throttle tube...I would start there...

You can do it with out much trouble at all. I would take the screws out and have a look.

Same grips - the little plastic notch that held the metal pill at the end of the throttle cable in broke off. Very easy to replace the grip - but you have to have a new grip to replace it. The tube is integrated into the grip - if it's removable, I didn't figure out how. I ordered a new replacement throttle grip from kuryakyn. Took all of 5 min to replace.
...you're gonna feel a little pressure....
