A 2003 shadow ace, fork springs, would be the same, springs maybe as our B A s . my shadow rides better than my BA by a mile. Guess i should go to a honda dealer and explain my problem to them . i don't know seems like they might be the same same bike in weight etc what do you think???
thought somebody here might know a way to rate springs?? anything should help thanks for looking

Both bikes have 41mm forks but it would be wild speculation on my part to assume the Honda also uses Kayaba forks. But, set that aside for a second and ask yourself: could I swap the springs and see if that's it?

Because if it's not you likely have an alignment problem. Does a picture frame size piece of glass sit flat on the face of the forks below tChe tree. Absolutely flat and not rock? No? Lower tree problem. Legs parallel from the tree to the seal? Takes a dial indicator and a jig to really know but you could get a good idea with a caliper, that would show you if you knocked out it alignment when nipping everything up. When the top caps go back on you really need to hold the tree with a bar in the handlebar mount to keep from tweaking he forks against the stops. Me? I use an air wrench to keep the legs true.

Then there's the issue of seal stiction but the above ought to keep you busy for a little while. Good luck.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

ps---------Can i raise the bike till the wheel is fully extended .....and.....squirt some wd-40 or some lubricant.that comes with the small red tube,up in around the circumference of the fork tube. will this get down into those seals if i spend a liitle time and get them lubed up enough. You have to remember i'm a hot rodder i can chop your top. but not sure about "how to do" my bike sometimes thank you
