Everytime Nancy goes for a ride? I treat it as the last time I may ever see her alive.
But I would never deny her the right to ride her Triumph with or without a Helmet.
You that don't ride will never understand that side of things.

That's just slightly different from my way of looking at it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how stupid it is.
Tolerance is simply allowing others to live in accordance with their own stupid beliefs as long as it doesn’t affect me and I’m not expected to pay for it or endorse it. I get my back up when I’m expected to champion someone else’s nonsensical opinions or beliefs and punished if I do not, or I’m expected to pay the direct or indirect cost of some other bozo’s decisions or lifestyle.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I agree with you 100%. WE as taxpayers will end up paying for someone who cracks their skull open if they dont have INS. I know many a guys in Fl who ride w/out but the law states that you have to have a certain amount of ins coverage. Many dont even bother with it, and some drop it after getting the endorsement.
So yep its your choice, but its a lousy one. That said, I have ridden with out about 3 times in 15 yrs. Did the wind in my hair feel good? you bet,, would that road my/your head might smack feel good? I bet not.
I have head a head bounce off road at least 2 times and was able to stand upand have no gash or goose eggs. Ill say that is a big +.

Problem with that is that is what society is for. We pay for a lot of stupidity it just may not be as obvious as a hospital bill, for example smoking, obesity, drinking. And these don't even touch social programs. I pay for enough of others stupidity I feel society can pay for the occational one of mine.
