Sad news indeed. It's tough to lose a Mom,it hurts no matter how much ya prepared. May I send my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to ya. Your sadness will linger but the memories will stay forever. She did have a good run.
I've become comfortably numb

Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers. It means a lot to me. Uncle Charlie PS Bucky got it close, but here's Mom's obit(by my brother) Marguerite H. Coe, age 94, of Norwalk and Madison, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012. Born in New Haven, the daughter of the late John Edward and Marguerite (McGann) Kiernan, she was the wife of the late Don L. Coe. She was a graduate of Central Connecticut Teachers College (now Central Connecticut State University), and was awarded a Master's Degree in Mathematics by Columbia University, after which she spent two years teaching school in New Haven. In 1944 she was commissioned an officer in the United States Navy, serving in the Gauge Division of the US Naval Gun Factory at the Washington Navy Yard throughout the war. She later served as Contract Administration Officer under the Inspector of Ordnance in Long Island City, NY, and at the Naval Base at San Diego, CA. She resigned her commission in 1953 when her CO refused to endorse her request to be transferred to be with her husband. LT Coe is entitled to wear the WWII Victory Ribbon, the American Theatre Ribbon, and the National Service Defense Ribbon. During a stint at home as wife and mother, Mrs. Coe started the library at Fox Run Elementary School in Norwalk as a volunteer, served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, then returned to teaching at Nathan Hale Middle School in Norwalk where she taught eighth grade algebra for over twenty years. She was a former member of the Shorehaven Golf Club, and loved spending time with family and friends at her beach house in Madison, and especially enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii. Marguerite is survived by her two sons, Stephen F. Coe and Charles E. Coe, both of Norwalk, her nieces and nephew, Marcia Glynne Fortino, John Glynne and Elizabeth Glynne Velardi, grandchildren Katherine Coe and Edward Coe, grand-niece Elizabeth Rose Fortino, and dear friend Jean SanSouci. A Funeral Mass will be held at Noon on Saturday, June 23 at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. Her family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.
Our Dad died at the young age of 73 in 1995.
Hug your Moms!

We laid Mom to rest today with full military honors. It was quite moving. Two sailors in dress whites alongside her casket, and three riflemen who fired a salute, followed by the playing of taps. Then a jet flew overhead low. My brother looked at his watch, turned to me, and said: "They're right on time".
Mom's at peace now, And so am I. Uncle Charlie (the fly-over was a coincidence, but fit in perfectly)
