I just used a chain tool to rivet my chain. First time I ever used one for a motorcycle. I think I cranked down on the rivets too much. The link doesn't move freely. Have I just hosed the chain? Do I need to buy a new link and try again? Or will it just loosen up over time?

I would just replace the rivet link you installed. No big lose. They don't need much when you crimp them.

Oh, when you install the side plate, make sure you don't overpress it. I used some calipers to make sure the link was the same width as the ones beside it before I crimped.

The rivet press tool on mine won't let you over tighten, it has a stop. It may seem a bit tight but ride it a bit and it should be fine.
Does it look OK?
