about a month ago I knocked out the back two baffles on my 05 america they are the stock long slash cut pipes and where stock.
They sounded OK but I could not leave well enough alone. I tried to knock out the third baffle (there are four total) they did not come out as easy and I ended up putting a hole in the fourth baffle also.
So now it sounds OK, but to loud for my taste, is there any options for adding baffles or am I looking at aftermarket pipes?

I will ride it like this and see if it grows on me but at this point I really think it is just a little to loud. The America is a nice looking bike and I don't think it needs loud pipes to be noticed

You could put an aftermarket baffle in the pipes. There are many baffle options out there based on the diameter of your pipes. Try sites like JPcycles and motorcycle superstore to find them. I'm not sure what the diameter of the stock pipes are though. Any help?

Most aftermarket baffles are insterted by either drilling a hole through the side of the pipe and locking the baffle in place with a nut and bolt or welding the baffle in place. Our own Dinqua even goes into how he inserted an aftermarket baffle in his pipes:

Dinqua's site is great. I bought a set of stock pipes just like mine off Ebay. Also I plan to buy a small aftermarket baffle and follow Dinqua's example of how to install it. This will give me two options, maybe overkill but I can live with that.
