Why the price increase,they were $105 on TRAT?

Price had to increase due to fees on e bay, which weren't incurred at the beginning on trat. I have started a business which will have to pay taxes plus all the other expenses along the way. At $105 or $150 both prices include taxes.The original prototype set which are on my bike took more than 20 hours of designing, machining and installation and removal onto the bike four times, till I got it right. Of course I hope to sell lots of them to make it cost effective for me. There is a make an offer option on ebay which reduces the price. I truly understand the shock of $105 up to $150 and that is why there is a make an offer option. In the end this venture has to be "worth the effort", and if not then I've just made these parts for myself. These brackets are the first of my ideas to be marketed. Next will be a quick detachable backrest bracket that will allow removal of a backrest in less than a minute, and quick detach.bungee tie down bracket. Des.

thought i would post a quick update, bought these parts from Des, shipping was fast and packaged well. Instructions not great and if you are not familiar with the parts you may be scratching your head a little bit. Couple issues, on mine anyways the master cyinder line has to be moved around a fair bit which puts a bit of stress on the pipe but doable, also the extention piece that is provided for the rear brake resovoir does not allow for a 90 degree up and down angle of the unit and the brace needs to be dremelled out in order for the cap to fit in just so, there is also a little more tention on the actual hose then i liked. The parts look nice in black and all the nuts and bolts are included. The actual position of the feet is very nice especially being 1" lover, for me with 30" legs its much better. The shift side goes on no issues and easy the brake side not so much. I was somehow able to actually bend the small piece of metal (warp it) when trying to install it, but he is sending me another one to replace it. The strenghth otherwise seems fine for wweight on the pedals. I am waitin gfor the other piece before i put it on the bike again. As for price, not sure i would pay the asking price without much much better instructions and better (plug and play) fitment. But this is just my opinion.

edmspeedmaster, got your new part on its way.got in a wreck wed july 25th, broke right elbow, left wrist is pinned.lotsa bruises/pain. bike should be repairable. thanks for your feedback on the kit, i'll make better instructions while i'm recovering and offwork for at least six weeks.quick detach backrest held up in wreck,developemnt of new backrest brkts.is on holdfor a few weeks untill i can recover a bit.

so, for anyone interested here is my final review of these brakcets. I finally got them sorted out and on the bike with a bit of adjustments. I first dremeled out a slot in the rear oil resovoir bracket (provided) so that it sat at a 90 degree angle up and down, otherwise it sits at an ugly angle, especially if you have the chrome top placed on it. The other adjustment was to cut the cylinder rod by about 4 mm so that there would be absolutley no pressure on the plunger wich in my case activated my brakes at 100 klm per hour, not locked up but un nerving to say the least. I also had to find another bold for the stop that screws to the chrome flange just above the peg so that it would not rotate. In terms of the parts, they are good and strong but the bolts are off the shelf "nut and bolt shop" type stuff, ugly, usually not an issue but they are exposed and not covered so was for me, i will find something nice to replace them with for now i painted them black. I would also recomend to Des that the brake side be made into one piece and not two.

As far as the placement etc goes, i like them very much. I feel much more balanced on the bike, corners feel better without my feet all the way out front and higher, the one inch lower seems to make a big difference. Bumps are much easier on the spine because you are sitting more on your ar** and less on the very back of it (if that made sense). Wind on the hyway does not fly up your pant leg as much and so forth. All and all i am very happy with the change.

edmspeedmaster, thanks for you feedback. glad you got them adjusted for a good fit. I know the bolts "stand out like a sore thumb", i am thinking of powdercoating the heads so they blend in with the brackets. The brake side bracket may be able to be made into one piece. I'll have see if i can redesign them when my bike gets back from its $5200 makeover job after the crash. I have updated the instructions and will send you a copy for you to critique.

UPDATE!!! Working on getting a web site for my business. As of now it looks like I won't be able to return to work as a Maintenance Machinist at work (San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station). My permanent injuries have damaged my right hand and my right elbow won't straighten out any more. I now have to get a torn rotator cuff on my right shoulder fixed. I'll probably be forced into an early retirement. The medical bills up to now are $134,000 and that not including a $28,000 helicopter flight plus physical therapy and rotator cuff surgery. I'll post an update when the website is operational.
