I just receive my Tach for a TBA and I'm having some installation problems. Can someone tell me where the Main instrument connector block is? In the instructions it looks like it is in the headlight assy. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

If your bike is newer than very early '03, there is a connector under the dash ready to plug into the tach. There is also a large square connector inside the rubber boot on the cable running down under the fork triple clamp from the left front of the dash assembly, might be the one you are looking for.

It completely depends on the year. On my 02, I had to run the pickup wire from the connector block under the tank to the block under the dash.

If yours is newer, you should be able to plug right into the under the dash block.

Thanks, I will have to run the pickup wire from under the tank to the block under the dash. Thanks for the help. I haven't hooked it up yet but will let you know how it works. Hopefully by this weekend.

The instructions are confusing but once you know it's the block under the dash and not in the headlight, you will see which empty slot it goes into. Drove me friggin crazy until I found this link from Team Triumph

That plug from under the tank is the ignitor plug, left side of the top tube. Another note, the tank console harness that you are swapping out does not have any lamps. You must take out the bulbs from your old harness and place them in the one Triumph supplied.

Read the link Phil gave you. The link doesn’t show a picture of how you open the plug up. It used too. Ya have to open it up otherwise you'll damage the wire's end.

Back again. Well I got the tach installed last night. Boy getting the pin in the ignitor was a real B##ch it took me about 45 minutes. The pin at the other end didn't give me too much trouble. Yes I had to take out the bulbs from the old harness. After I got the tank and console back on, the tach worked just fine. I am going to have to take the console back off because when taking out the bulbs I think I messed up the directional bulb contacts. The tach does look nice, I hope in the future they include a tach with the America.

slp, I'll be in your neck of the woods this weekend, via car unfortunately. I used to live in State College for about 5 years or so. Used to work at Alley Cat Music & Zeno's too. Was in number of bands playing around town as well. I'll be back a few times this summer on my TBA...we'll hafta go for a ride.
