I just have to say that I took the kids to see THE AVENGERS (3D) Saturday night, MAN WAS THAT A GREAT MOVIE! So good in fact Im planning on hitting the IMAX 3D this weekend. I have not had so much fun at a movie since 1979 when STAR WARS opened.

( It was even better after the Deputy sheriff told the lady with 2 small kids that they needed to leave the movie)

OK, just felt like mentioning it, if you happened to miss all the news about how it shattered records. Oh and the 3D was excelent! I haddnt been to a modern 3d movie and am very impressed.

It was a good movie. I saw it Friday night. It'll definitely be one that we'll buy when it's out on blu-ray.

I'd love to see it again in IMAX but the closest one is Spokane.

We saw it on Sunday in 3D D-Box and it was flipping awesome! The Hulk definately stole that movie.

What is D-Box you ask? It's like an amusment park ride where the seats move a bit to go with the action on screen. It takes a few minutes to get used to but I guess it's the new thing to bring movies out of 3D and into 4D. Next thing you know, the Hulk will be smashing you in the face.

That's the drift I got. I wasn't being derogatory, what's the movie about?

A band of underwear perverts reluctantly join forces to defeat an alien menace being lead by a Norse demigod. Hilarity ensues. Crap gets broken.

Bill & Friar thanks, I get it. Saw the first Iron Man movie, liked it. Got bored with the Hulk movie. I assume the other heros have their own movies?

Dude, they NAIL the Hulk in this movie. Mark Ruffalo NAILS Bruce Banner (the alter ego) and does phenomenal motion-capture work for the digital hulk character.

Thor and Captain America have their own movies, and there's a second Iron Man that's pretty good (though not as good as IM1 or Avengers). Nick Fury, Black Widow and Hawkeye are sprinkled throughout the others' movies. More cameos than anything else.

Nothing has been done on this scale as far as cross-over. Unfortunately Spiderman and the Fantastic Four (not to mention Ghost Rider (spit) and Blade) were optioned by a different studio long before Marvel started their own studio, so they will likely never be added into this mix.

I am very glad that Edward Norton was not Bruce Banner or anywhere to be found in the movie.

I would like to see a re-do of the afore mentioned movies. Farvo (or however you spell his name) has always said his hands got tied too many times with Dare Devil. DD deserves a better movie. The new AMAZING SPIDER-MAN looks to be pretty good. Truer to the comic, he has web slingers,, not organic silly string from wrist.

They're working on a Daredevil reboot.

Also read rumors of a Nick Fury movie.

Samuel L. signed on for seven movies in his contract. There better be something Nick Fury related. By my count he's shown up in IM1, IM2, Thor, Captain America, and the Avengers; at least two more to go.

On a side note: did anyone else catch Dick van Dyke's cameo in the movie?

Saw it with my son in IMAX 3D last night. It was awesome! I told my son that Scarlett Johansson would make a hell of a prom date!

Son agrees!

My daughter came home from school for the summer and wanted to see the movie. When your 20 year old daughter wants you to take her to movie, you do. We went today and it was great. I really liked it. Although in my opinion Scarlett Johansson is not the hottest girl in the movie!

On another note did anyone notice Dr. Bruce Banner riding up before the big fight? What kind of motorcycle was he on? Based on the very short look I was thinking it could be a Triumph.

A Harley Heritage, a Triumph America, a good Irish Whiskey and cigar. As close to Heaven on earth as I can get.

I said it too! Looked like a standard bonnie. You can see the way the pipes bendup and go to pea shooters. That was not Dick Van Dyke if Im thinking the same shot you are, that was Stan Lee. He is all the Marvel Movies.

We're thinking of different shots, although that was a pretty good Stan Lee cameo. Dick Van Dyke was leader of the council; you could barely make out his face.

He didn't try to affect a Cockney accent in this one too, did he?!

(...some of those guys over there on that little island off the coast of France still haven't forgiven him for doin' that after all these years, ya know!)

Well, then did HE try to affect a Cockney accent in this, John???

(...'cause in THAT case then maybe they should'a got Michael Caine INSTEAD...'cause I KNOW that THAT guy can do a GREAT Cockney accent, dude!!!)

right from IMDB cast list--- no Dick Van Dyke-- FJ wins the question.

Jenny Agutter ... World Security Council

Arthur Darbinyan ... World Security Council

Donald Li ... World Security Council

and here is a interesting credit i bet we all missed

Lou Ferrigno... The Hulk (voice) (uncredited)

Interesting critique of the Avengers about half way thru the video.

Movies are like books, they are never just a book, some deep and serious, some not so much.
