xcor is one of the private space development companies operating in the US. As a test of some pump gear planned for the Lynx spacecraft they replaced the con-rods and bearings of a street triple with the equivalent pump parts. I found that hard to credit but the article seems quite serious. They explain that the street triple engine has similar power and stress requirements to their pumps.
