Okay guys and gals. Its time to change the chain and sprockets on my 06 America, its got 20,000 miles on it. I'm going back with the DID 525VM2 chain. Does anyone have a recommendation as to which chain riveting tool to use to install the new chain? One more question, is there a reason not to use the old fashion clip type for the master link?
'06 America, Raask foot controls, the bike use to be Graphite and Silver, now its Red and Black.

I got my rivet tool from FastEddy. Works like a charm.

I used the clip style and it wasn't easy to compress the seals to get the clip on right but other than that no. Had that clip style on there for a couple thousand miles now.

You can get a Motion Pro chain breaker/press tool for $100.00, and it ought to do anything you'll ever need to do with a chain. Why use a clip when a new chain comes with the rivet type Master link?

When did you leave the DID 525VM2 chain? DID discontinued that one anyways. You'll see the 525VX now. (7% Greater Rigidity than the VM)

I just found out this morning that the DID 525VM2 chain is no longer available. I'm going to look at the 525VX and also at the RK chain and sprocket set that Fast Eddy has.
