I just finished doing some electrical mods to my 2011 Speedmaster (I'll post some pics soon). I replaced the rear turn signals with LEDs, front mirrors and turn signals with Rivco LED Mirrors and put in a Kisan SignalMinder with the extra wires to brake line and left/right. Somewhere in this process, the engine MIL detected a fault and now stays on with the engine running.
The Kisan works correctly on all functions, as do the lights, so I'm pretty confident in my wiring.
I swapped out the Kisan for the stock blinker module and the MIL still stays on. Wondering if there's any way to find out why it's on, aside from going to the dealer, which is about a 30 minute drive.

TuneECU software (free) will detail the reason for the MIL but you would need to buy the USB connector for the bike (about $20) but it would be quicker to get the dealer to read the ECU. It sounds like a short is being reported by the ECU but that's a guess.

I have TuneECU, but I haven't bought a cable yet because I haven't needed to reTune. Ah well. It's due for the first service anyway.
Thanks.

... and the light went off about a mile down the road. So I went on a nice ride instead. Saturday was beautiful weather and I hate to waste that.

Good news. The MIL will turn off after 3 warm up cycles when a fault has been rectified and the DTC (diagnostic trouble code) will be erased from the ECM after 40 warm up cycles. Most likely it was a momentary short when doing your installation but for $20 for a USB cable it would be worth checking the DTC before it gets erased - for peace of mind. You will also be able to easily balance your throttle bodies and do your own tuning tweaks/map changes.
If you do read the code you can post it here (or PM me) and I can translate the code for you. ( I have the Triumph EFI service manual).
