I find it interesting that even when people get to a certain age, there has to be a reason why they kicked it, like a heart attack or something.... Can't they just die from being old? 82 is a good run, we should all be so fortunate.

He was still on Rockin' Eve this past new years. For a long time the guy never seemed to age.

It is sad to learn of Dick Clark's passing, but time marches on for us all til we reach that final grin. What is important is the legacy we leave behind. Dick's legacy is one of music that brought people together, and led the vanguard to contemporary rock & roll. Still I like the old 60's & early 70's stuff the best. RIP D.C.

He was only 82? So, he was maybe 15 when he was on Bandstand? The way he never seemed to age, I thought maybe he was an alien with a 600 year lifespan.

He was simply the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. Always on stage to greet every artist on his shows, always smiling, always in charge. Godspeed, sir, and thank you.

I like the Beat. It's Easy to Dance to. That statement is STILL used by Kids to say why they like a song.

Dick Clark-A music industry icon. still worked until pretty close to the end. Levon Helm - A guy so tied to this area that the shock waves will last a while. THe Rambles, Mountain Jam, plus his support for almost any local charity. Greg Ham , WHo? I remember Men @ Work
