Charles, you can check with these folks....I don't have any first hand experience. Some people on this site have used them and liked the results. I wish I had known this before I bought my Corbin. Nothing wrong with the Corbin, I love it but, this solution would have saved me some money. Spencer's Seats

CDL, it's a crap shoot using a local guy. I had my original seat shaved down with poor results. I used a local upholstery guy that was highly recommended by the local HD dealer. The job was so poor that I had my custom seat made, when the new guy took the modified seat apart he found headliner used as padding & sub-par used foam. I have read nothing but good about Spencer's and the price is good.
Ride like you mean it.

I say D.I.Y., guys!
If you're even halfway handy, all ya need is an electric carving knife, about a 2 foot square piece of 1/8" foam in order to glue(3M 90 spray glue) that on top of your finshed cut(that foam is to smooth out any imperfection in your finished cut, 'cause any imperfections will show through the cover once it's re-stapled to the pan) and, well, VIOLA!
I've done this a couple of times, though I actually ADDED foam to the seat because I didn't want to sit lower, I wanted to sit higher(reasonally long legs here, ya see). Though because I added foam to my seat(and shaped the sucker so now I can ride hours upon hours without gettin' any "monkey butt"), I did have to have my seat re-covered by a local upholsterer(car interior and convertible top kind o' place), who did a GREAT job on it for only 75 little bucks.
And, because you'll be actually making it lower, you should be able to use the orginal cover on yours, 'cause there will be extra material on the cover's sides where you'll re-staple it underneath the seat pan.
(...that is IF you don't decide to go ahead and have an upholsterer re-cover the sucker, of course)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I used Spencers, and have no complaints. I had him do the gel padding and it is one inch lower. It does not look all that different from stock. He just recovers after doing the adjustments. His prices are really good too.

http://knoplace.com/ you can buy all you need from these guys. or send it to them. They have step by step how too's or buy the stuff and then go to a trusted seat guy but tell him you want to see it, and sit on it b4 its all glued and covered. this is still on my long to do list. but moving up the charts rapidly.
