My Amstel-enhanced belly is requiring me to adjust the shocks on my 2008 America so I can have a smoother ride but I don't have a garage or apparatus to safely life the bike to make the adjustments. Is there any advice or tips for a poor mans lift so I can get at these shocks? PS Any advice on the actual adjustment would be welcome as well!! Thanks

You can adjust them with the bike on the ground. I have an old long handled allen key that fits the adjustment hole on the shock. Just turn in the direction you want.

Let's assume you're talking the stock shocks. Find an Allen wrench that fits the adjuster hole snugly, then lift the rear fender as you turn the adjuster. That ought to do it.

Thanks boys. So glad to hear that! I've got a metric set that should do the trick and I appreciate the responses. Cheers
