Put the finishing touches on the big bore kit. TPUSA 11.5:1 kit. Fired it up for the first time last night and it ran and sounded great! I haven't been able to take it out on a ride yet, it's raining here. I wired the run-turn-brake controller, relocated the battery and added K&N pods. I still have a couple tabs to cut off, and have lots of cleaning up to do. So far my only "oh crap" moment is that I was so excited to fill it up with oil, that I realized I did not yet change the clutch springs. Kinda hard to do when it's full of oil. I figure I'll run it for about 1000 miles, then I'll drain the oil out and do them then. Unless of course the clutch is slipping like mad, then I'll do it sooner. I didn't do anything with the heads, or the carbs, maybe next winter. Ride report coming soon...

You will definetly be needing the clutch springs soon, just wait till you can whack it open the first time.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Took it out for the first time today. Very happy, it is like getting a new bike. However, as Dinqua mentioned, I'll definitely need to get those clutch springs done. If I get on it the clutch slips around 4K rpm. I'm not sure if I have it jetted right, I put pods on, and went with 150 mains, kept my pilots at 45, and put 1 shim on the stock needles. Seems to run well, but I'm getting some popping off throttle, sometimes even when shifting. Maybe I need to up the pilot to 48, I'm already 3 turns out IIRC.

the 48s are a good move.
is your TPS connnected? if so, unplug it and see what that does to your over run popping.
just throwing this out there, but, after you get your thru the break in on the rings and clutch springs it might be worth getting it on a dyno so as to get your A/F dialed in. Or a A/F meter if you have one.

TPS is connected, maybe ill try disconnecting it. I definitely want to get it on a dyno to see where I am, and so I can make the proper adjustments to the carbs.
