Recently went to FREAK with 145/45, no AI, first two baffles drilled with 3/4 inch holes, third baffle removed, one shim on stock 05 America needle. Finally ended up with approx 2 1/2 turns at sea level. BUT manual states when replacing PILOT jets to lightly screw down to seat, then back out the same number of turns of previous jets. I did not count the turns on 42 pilot, just cranked 45s down to zero. Should I adjust them, if so what is starting point?

05 Mulberry America, Freak, 45/145, one shim stock needle, 2 1/2 turns, 2 baffles drilled 3/4" holes, 3rd baffle removed, 18T/42T DID x-ring, engine mount OPG & oil temp, Metzeler 880s, EBS rotors, HH pads, low profile seat

That's a misprint. The pilot or slow jets go all the way in until they're seated. Most likely mixed up the pilot jets and the pilot (mix) screw idle adjustment.

Disconnect the sparkplug on the side not to be adjusted and ground it. Then adjust the idle up just enough for the bike to stay running. Screw the mixture screw in until the engine starts to run rough then back out until it starts to run rough again counting the number of turns between the 2 points. The correct setting is 1/2 way between the 2 points.Repeat for the other side.

If this is your first time put a big fan on the motor while you do this. Cause it may take you longer than it would Ian, but it is the easiest way to do it.
