I bought this America a two years ago from a gear head who'd been working on cars his entire life and decided that he wanted to switch to motorcycles. After 1300 miles he decided he was wrong. Everything was stock when I bought it, the only accessories were the tach, sissy bar, and luggage rack. Since then, I've added saddlebags, a light bar, ISO grips, new mirrors, fishtail exhaust with rejet, and relocated the turn signals to the light bar, and gotten rid of the god-awful looking passenger peg hangers.

This pic is from right after I fitted the fishtail exhaust. I'll post more pictures in the next few days.

I'm doing a complete overhaul. I'm still planning on adding handlebar risers, fitting her with whitewall tires, and changing out the stock pegs. I'll probably get some new saddles bags as well; the ones I have just don't look right. Still got a way to go, but she should look great once it's done.

Welcome to the boards, Sean!

Nice lookin' bike with some nice add-ons there. Are those a pair of speakers risin' up from the handlebars?

(...btw, I agree with ya about those passenger peg holders...I removed those puppies within a month after I purchased my BA back in late 2001, and have used those pegs as double-duty to hold the muffler hangers and screwed 'em right into those bottom-most threaded holes in the frame)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Dwight,
Yep, I've got a set of Shark speakers on the handle bars. They're not the most aesthetic, but they're loud and the sound quality is good. I ran the speaker wires down the frame, and keep the amp hidden in my left saddle bag. At 85 mph you can hear them on the highway (no windshield either). Passenger can't hear anything though, so I'm trying to find a way to work in a set of rear speakers that isn't too cosmetically appalling.

I've got a 45+ minute commute to and from work, and those babies have been my saving grace during stop-and-go traffic.

Not the fastest color, but the fishtails add another 10 hp just from the aerodynamics.

They are not fishtails! They are the propulsion ports attached to the flux capacitor. See, you don't understand the green ones very well.

Actually Sean, I have a green one too. Congrats on your purchase.

The fishtails also make all the Harley riders turn their heads in jealousy as I blow by with a smile on my face.

I do like the emerald over white & with whitewalls it will really be an eyecatcher Sean. Heck, the fishtail exhaust makes it an already. Nice job & sharp looking ride ya got there. But EVERYBODY knows the Black ones are the fastest....

Welcome to the looney bin.

Just noticed, it doesn't look like you have any hangers for your pipes.

I do. I hadn't put them on yet when I took that picture. I was too excited by the fact that my bike had just increased exponentially in awesomeness with the fishtials that I had to snap a picture right then and there.

I'm using your standard P-clamp to hang the pipes from the usual spot by passenger peg. Right now the hangers are chrome, but I think that i'm going to powdercoat part of them so the hangers don't sick out like a sore thumb.

I'll post a new picture once it stops raining here. Finally got the dang thing fixed and it rains for four days straight.

Hey sconsi, is it just the angle you took the picture or are those fishtail pipes lower to the ground than the stock pipes?

I haven't made any modifications to get the pipes lower than stock, so it's probably just the angle.

Or they may be lower in that picture though because, as Soren pointed out, I've got no hangers holding them up in this picture.

New pictures. I just finished remounting my front fender after having whitewall tires installed. She handles great and looks sexy. Almost got her to the point that I want.

Fishtails and whitewalls: heck yes!
