The USS Enterprise is on it's last deployment. Any of you Navy men that might have served on this historic carrier want to comment and share your experiences with us land lovers.

Although I never served on the Enterprise I know that those who did were very proud of the ship. She has been a major part of our national defense for fifty years. It is a ship with a proud and storied name. The previous Enterprise was a major part of our victory in the Pacific. I hope that the next Aircraft Carrier is named Enterprise.

Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

That's 'land lubbers'.

I never had the honor. I was on Ike.

I don't think any other vessel name has ever been such a big part of a nation's culture.

I never served on her, I was on the USS Saratoga CV60 during Desert Sheild / Storm and The USS Theodore Roosevelt for the first Operation Denigh Flight.

I agree she has been a big part of our history, and as they say in the TNG, "Dont worry, there is plenty of letters left in the alphabet" Pretty sure we will have a new ENTERPRISE.

On a side note, Having served on 2 fairly old decks, it is probably time to retire her. The snipes have to work round the clock to keep your utilities running, fixing broke stuff everywhere. Yep, Old ships are grand,,, but they are a maintainers nightmare.

Mal: "Y'all see the man hanging out of the spaceship with the really big gun?{ref, Jayne} Man's lookin' to kill some folk. So really, it's his will y'all should worry about thwarting."

Hate to see the old ones go. My USS America CV66 is now at the bottom of the north Atlantic.

Tin cans here. Escorted her a couple times. For sailors its always hard to see their ships pass away. (Well, except for the one tanker I served on).

I did about 6 or 7 weeks on her a few years back. Just a short workup while I was with VS-31.

Old S-3 guy myself. VS-21 & VS-37 Connie & Kitty Hawk. Back in the 70's and 80's when we still did ASW & ASUW.

Thank you to all our members who have served! The Enterprise will absolutely be missed, I also hope we have one of the new decks carrying the name.

Done. It amazes me that CV-6 was scrapped.
