I just put long slant cut slip on's on my America carb model and it pops while accelerating ?

While accelerating? Commonly our bikes pop on deceleration but not when hitting the throttle. Do you mean BETWEEN shifts, as in when you let the gas off?

that would make more sense. Has the bike been tuned at all? airbox, jets?

I like the popping my speedy makes and sometimes drop the revs just to wake up the locals. Not heard of one popping under acceleration though.

I think I found the problem..bad petcock not getting enough fuel.

Now I found the problem ..bad petcock. Can Anyone tell me how to istall a new one? It looks like I could do it with out taking the tank off but how do I get all the gas out of the tank? Or should I remove the tank?

easy peasy man. two bolts.
what i would do, myself, is drain gas out the petcock if possible on reserve, the undo the tank and have a friend hold it kinda sideways so whatever gas is still in there is on the other side of the tunnel and remove the two bolts, pull, replace. minding your gaskets on installation.
i think trying to do it with the tank where it is will get gas everywhere.
thats what i've done on other bikes.
