Sorry John, I'm posting this here in case no one looks down to Legislation!
Move it if'n you see fit

The Mrs of a good mate of mine works for the West Midlands Air Ambulance.
I've helped out at a few fund raising things for them but I had an email off him today.
Air ambulances across the country are trying to raise support to get VAT on the aviation fuel scrapped. Imagine how much they could save and channel that into the ambulance service itself?
The system is in place for the Life Boats. Apparently they don't pay VAT on their diesel.
If you sign the e-petition, it will ask for your email address and will send an email which you will need to click on the link thing to confirm you are you so you might need to check your spam / junk mail folders.
As riders, we should consider the Air Ambulance as an additional insurance policy. It's a fantastic cause so copy and paste the link and send it on.
Thanks in advance.

It's not motorcycle-related legislation.

In all honesty, I don't know!
I doubt it but you can always try.
I'm not sure of the figures but when it gets to so many 'signatures' on the petition, it has to be raised in parliament and it might get a wider audience.

Just signed - btw it does ask if you are a British citizen and has a "no" option - don't know if selecting that gets you barred from signing it though.

100,000 signatures, then it's debated

Thought it was. Wasn't it something like 30,000 until all sorts of useless shite was getting there?

If you click the "no" option, the message displayed is "You must be a British citizen or normally live in the UK to create or sign e-petitions."

I wanted to sign the petition because I'm a US citizen and was traveling near Aberdeen (UK) a few years ago and was in an auto accident. Ground ambulance took me to the hospital, but more serious injuries might have put me in need of the air ambulance. I sincerely hope this petition drive is successful. ATB to you all!
